Advancing Fund Governance is an Ohio not for profit corporation formed to “engage those charged with fund governance to enable them to best serve shareholders and stakeholders.” The group recognizes that the trustees of registered and non-registered funds have a unique responsibility, distinct in many ways from that of an “operating” company. We believe trustees and management of fund companies may increase their capacity to serve the shareholders and stakeholders of their funds, and therefore “advance fund governance” by learning from each other. Advancing Fund Governance expects to provide meaningful opportunities for fund trustees and management to connect, both in person and through technology.

Engage those charged with fund governance to enable them to best serve shareholders and stakeholders.

 

Our Mission:

Develop best practices for fund governance, including but also reaching beyond compliance responsibilities;

Enhance effectiveness of fund trustees; and

Foster meaningful communication and relationships among those charged with fund governance.

We will seek to achieve our mission through conducting in-person and virtual forums, to encourage and support the ongoing exchange of ideas and innovation. We will actively engage fund directors and trustees, senior officers, professional service providers, regulators, other significant stakeholders, and academia—both faculty and students.
